Waitankung Movement Description
9. WAIST TWISTING  

PURPOSE:
To strengthen the knees, the kidneys and the bladder by activating ch'i around the waist area.
帶是帶脈,帶脈圍腰一周,運轉帶脈,調和腎臟與脊背活動,中老年人常習本 功,對身體健康大有助益。 轉帶功效,手足輕捷。血不蹇澀,氣不停滯。

STEPS:

  1. Maintain same standing position of the previous movement
  2. Turn palms upside down
  3. Press hands down to the waist forming an oval by the two arms
  4. Spread fingers by pulling them upward 9 times to activate ch'i
  5. Make fingers face each other
  6. Turn waist left and then right without moving the hips to rotate the upper body 180 degrees
  7. Do 6 for 30 seconds or more
1)原地不動,左足向左側跨出半步,雙足與外肩齊,身下蹲45度或25度,量自胯腿 能力酌定,但雙足前後對正不可偏斜,二足心踏地,頭頂正,舌抵上顎,微叩齒, 收住尾閭,目前視,呼吸自然,兩膝蓋不可偏歪。十指張左右手五指尖對正臍前, 二手心向下,指尖與腕平,雙肘向兩脅外支,二肘空隙處保持橢圓形,胸部忌挺凸, 以鬆直為準。
2)心中默數九個字,每默數一字,『掌按指翹』一次,數字畢,立刻向左轉帶 脈九十度,復立刻向右側迂迴180度,復立刻向左側轉帶脈180度,左轉右迴各九次 後,仍復開始原狀。
3)兩手在臍前勿動,靜待先天氣顫動,兩手上而至胳膊,肩臂似電流貫串上肢 與軀幹,先天氣流暢時間練功者自酌可也。

NOTES:
The hands are moved along the waist belt by the waist rotation, not by moving the arms or shoulders.
(轉帶脈不轉肩胯,而是帶脈帶著肩胯轉也。即轉腰轉不胯)
